LiveNation has announced that Projekt Revolution, a super tour featuring lots of the letter K. Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday, Him, Placebo, and Julien-K will be coming to Verizon Wireless Music Center in Noblesville, Indiana on Friday, August 31st.
Linkin Park released their new album today in every country but the US, for those of us here in the states, we will be able to pick it up tomorrow. I am sure somewhere, die-hard fans have already had their copy shipped same-day from Germany and are rocking out right now.
I must admit to being a fan of the two previous full-length records from Linkin Park, “Hybrid Theory” and “Meteora.” For some reason most people will forgive me for liking them. They somehow have been able to make really good songs out of a really crappy genre. I did hear the new single while watching their new video, and it didn’t grab me like “Paper cut” did. The hook isn’t as memorable, but I think the song might grow on me. I listened to some samples on the band’s website. A lot of the new songs seem a lot more rock, and some of them seem way more… “punk” than my gut tells me they should. What I have heard on their site sounds like I have heard it before, to be honest, and most of it came from the bands opening for them on this tour.
The show looks good though for fans of Linkin Park and all of the other “emo” bands on the bill. I have a hard time swallowing My Chemical Romance and Taking Back Sunday. I can’t say much about Him or Julien K, but I know a lot of people with good taste who like Placebo.
You can get your tickets this Saturday at 10 am at all the usual places. Lawn tickets are 25 bucks, but if you want in the pit your looking at 70. In my opinion, if you pick up the record this week and tickets, you should get an honorary Chester Bennington tattoo.
