New Site Design

Unless you are reading this through an RSS reader, you’ll have noticed a new site design. I originally launched this site in one night, and quickly switched to the “RadMod” theme found on wordpress.org.

I have since heavily modified it to suit my purposes. Hopefully this will make the site more fun and easy to get around in. I have some more changes planned, but they will be small and not really post-worthy.

Please leave comments if you experience any problems, or having any suggestions. Hopefully this means I get back to posting episode 2 of the podcast.

Projekt Revolution: Featuring every kewl band.

LiveNation has announced that Projekt Revolution, a super tour featuring lots of the letter K. Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday, Him, Placebo, and Julien-K will be coming to Verizon Wireless Music Center in Noblesville, Indiana on Friday, August 31st.

Linkin Park released their new album today in every country but the US, for those of us here in the states, we will be able to pick it up tomorrow. I am sure somewhere, die-hard fans have already had their copy shipped same-day from Germany and are rocking out right now.

I must admit to being a fan of the two previous full-length records from Linkin Park, “Hybrid Theory” and “Meteora.” For some reason most people will forgive me for liking them. They somehow have been able to make really good songs out of a really crappy genre. I did hear the new single while watching their new video, and it didn’t grab me like “Paper cut” did. The hook isn’t as memorable, but I think the song might grow on me. I listened to some samples on the band’s website. A lot of the new songs seem a lot more rock, and some of them seem way more… “punk” than my gut tells me they should. What I have heard on their site sounds like I have heard it before, to be honest, and most of it came from the bands opening for them on this tour.

The show looks good though for fans of Linkin Park and all of the other “emo” bands on the bill. I have a hard time swallowing My Chemical Romance and Taking Back Sunday. I can’t say much about Him or Julien K, but I know a lot of people with good taste who like Placebo.

You can get your tickets this Saturday at 10 am at all the usual places. Lawn tickets are 25 bucks, but if you want in the pit your looking at 70. In my opinion, if you pick up the record this week and tickets, you should get an honorary Chester Bennington tattoo.

Episode 001 – Interview with Rahim by Thin Fevers (the podcast finally begins!)

Finally, the first episode of the Rockitbomb.com podcast. I know the graphics are kind of ghetto, but I am tired and this interview is over a month old. It is still pretty good I think, or at least entertaining.

Thin Fevers played a show with New York’s Rahim on March 19th of this year at an awesome house show at The 1511. Ben, Antonio, and Brian sat down with the band and did a quick interview. The band discussed tour, South by Southwest, a new album, and of course, Bruce.

The feed link is: http://rockitbomb.com/podcast/feed.rss or you can click this link to add to iTunes. I will posting it to Youtube as well once I can confirm my new account. Expect an update to this post.

In the meantime, I am also going to attempt to embed the m4v file. Let me know if anyone has trouble.

A couple of quick updates

Just a quick post to call attention to some recent updates. I made some design changes today, and will be implementing some more. I was actually able to pull myself away from my 2 week old Nintendo Wii to work on the site a little.

I have also finally finished putting together a Rahim video interview, that I will try to get posted tomorrow night. I also will be putting together another episode of the Thin Fevers podcast. I am thinking that Rockitbomb.com’s podcast is going to consume the TF one, due to the fact that I usually shoot bands we play with.

Stay posted for more. I am working on some other cool stuff as well.

Brian
